A contemporary screen adaptation of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.
Shipwrecked twins Viola and Sebastian are reimagined as asylum seekers in a contemporary, multicultural London. The cast of characters (some speaking the Bard's prose in Hindi) suffer strange confusion and magical coincidence - all in a state of delightful delirium. Starring Parminder Nagra (Bend It Like Beckham, ER) and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Dirty Pretty Things), with music by Nitin Sawhney.

A rare Master Class on Writing the Musical Score for Film: experience Nitin Sawhney performing a live acoustic soundtrack to "Twelfth Night".
Nitin will bring his guitar and keyboard as well as rare footage without sound from Post-Production on Twelfth Night. He will show his process for
writing the soundtrack, developing characters through sound, and building a soundscape to bring the film to life. |
Nitin Sawhney is a musical innovator. A gifted multi-instrumentalist,
arranger, and producer, he has merged Indian classical music with jazz, dance beats,
and electronica. In 2000 he was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. In
2001, he garnered a MOBO Award and BBC Radio's Music Award. His score work
includes "Split Wide Open", "Secret Asians", "Goodness Gracious Me", "Anita and Me", and
Akram Khan Dance Company's "Kaash". |
